A new formula which has been optimally standardised, so that it is perfectly scalable and can be very quickly produced and rolled out at a low cost. This is what the Beerens Group specialises in. We have enjoyed proving this again for Bike Republic.
Bike Republic is the Colruyt Group bike chain, previously called Fiets! Here, customers can find an extensive collection of e-bikes, city bikes and sports bikes, along with all the accessories to make cycling fun. In 2021, the Colruyt Group asked Beerens to help with their formula plans for Bike Republic. Specifically: think up technical solutions to enable the interior of new shops to be produced and assembled quickly, easily and cost efficiently.
Standardised down to the last detail
Enthusiastically, we started work for Bike Republic. Firstly, we studied all the interior items and shelving configurations from the formula plans. We then developed them in detail. This involved optimally standardising all the elements, using as many standard materials and dimensions as possible but retaining the formula design and the functional requirements. This meant changing the shelving widths, for example, so that we could use standard perforated back walls and inserts like planks and crossbeams. We chose tube sizes, insert sizes and wood materials which fit standard materials which are easily available. For Bike Republic, this also guarantees that parts are available in the event of small subsequent orders.
Formula successful!
Once the new formula had been developed, prepared and adopted in a formula manual, it was time for the Beerens Group to demonstrate its skills. In the space of a few days, we managed to design and furnish a new shop in Veurne, Belgium, down to the smallest details. So, only a very short lead time before a festive opening by Bike Republic. Two more shops are now planned. We are ready. Through standardisation, we make every shop formula perfectly scalable, so that the rollout is much faster, easier and cheaper.
